Assessment of Undergraduate Recruitment and Admissions

The University has established specific, measurableadmissions goals and strategies to recruitstudents who are best able to take advantage ofthe academic programs and faculty expertise ofeach campus. The carefully planned approach theUniversity has taken to recruitment (discussedbelow and in the working group report) has ledto improvements in the freshman profile thathave outpaced those of the University’s peers andto strong enrollments on each of the campusesduring a time when a number of public andprivate institutions in Western Pennsylvaniaexperienced declines.
